Professional experience you can trust

Elena’s career spans more than two decades of therapeutic work across charities, public services, educational settings, recovery services, local authorities, cooperative care models, and corporate wellbeing environments.

She has supported children and young people in mainstream and specialist educational settings, worked with vulnerable individuals requiring mental health intervention, and contributed to safeguarding and harm-reduction practices while helping clients build healthier relationships, educational pathways, and life stability.

Her experience includes roles within organisations such as the Samaritans, Victim Support, Place2Be, and drug and alcohol services, alongside work within youth programmes and community-based support services.

This breadth of experience allows Elena to bring both clinical skill and real-world understanding to her private practice today. She has completed over 600 clinical counselling hours, and her experience continues to grow through active practice and ongoing professional accountability.

Elena also provides workshops and professional training for organisations seeking psychologically informed support.

Qualifications and ongoing development

Elena holds postgraduate qualifications in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from the University of Manchester and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Salford.

Her work is guided by recognised clinical frameworks, including NICE-informed approaches for anxiety, mood, and stress-related presentations, and supported by ongoing professional development.

Elena is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is professionally aligned with the BABCP and a member of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).

A thoughtful & individual approach

No two people arrive at therapy with the same experiences. Elena works in an integrative way, thoughtfully adapting her approach to reflect each client’s needs, pace, and preferences.

She provides evidence-informed therapy while remaining compassionate, collaborative, and deeply respectful of individual identity and lived experience.

Clients are supported to:

✔ better understand their emotional world
✔ develop resilience
✔ strengthen self-awareness
✔ navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity
✔ build tools for lasting wellbeing

Therapy is shaped around what feels most manageable and meaningful for each individual, whether support is needed during a difficult period or as part of deeper personal growth.

Experience, values & perspective

Alongside her clinical training, Elena has undertaken personal therapy and experiential group work across cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, and humanistic models. This informs her understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to seek support, and why trust and safety are central to effective therapy.

Clients often recognise her grounded, steady presence and her ability to hold both structure and humanity within the therapeutic process.

At Chalice Psychotherapy, the focus is on promoting emotional wellbeing and personal growth through professional, evidence-based therapy. Elena supports clients in developing insight, resilience, and practical skills to help them navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and stability.

Elena is committed to providing a space where every individual is treated with respect, dignity, and fairness, regardless of background, identity, or belief. Diversity is welcomed and therapy is delivered within an inclusive, reflective, and non-judgemental environment.
